FALL BALL
Registration is now open. Click on the FORMS tab to download a registration form.

We are projecting the Fall Ball season to run from the beginning of September to mid October. This could involve both field time at View Lynn and the batting cage at Kirkstone Park. The program will be facilitated by coaching volunteers from Lynn Valley Little League and on occasion by instructors from the Bull Pen.

The Key to our fall ball program has been development and fun. There will be involvement from the Bull Pen to enhance player skills during development days in the fundamental areas of hitting, pitching and with the expectation to have exhibition games scheduled with other associations.

Game play at all levels helps to build offensive and defensive capability and understanding of "the game" for both coaches and kids.

Fees will cover field time, shirts, umpires and some Bull Pen instructors. Minors can expect to practice one night a week, while Majors, Juniors, Bigs and Seniors can expect 2 practices a week. Its expected at all levels to have 1-2 games on the weekend.

The Minors and Major division games will be held at Viewlynn with the potential of some across town games, while the older age groups will be held at at Kirkstone.

ALSO LVLL is always looking for volunteers and board members. If you have a skill or passion that could be utilized within the benefit of our LVLL community, please let us know. We work together for the benefit of our community and kids. president@lvll.ca

We're hoping to field teams in three different age groups this year:
  • 8-10 Year Olds in 2018 regular season - These kids played in the Single A or AA division in 2017 and are likely to play/try out to play in the AA division in 2018.
  • 9-11 Year Olds in 2018 - These kids played in the AA or AAA division in 2017 and are likely to play/try out to play in the AAA division in 2018.
  • 10-12 Year Olds in 2018 - These kids played in the AAA or Majors division in 2017 and are likely to play/try out to play in the Majors division in 2018.
Please refer to the Age Determination chart on the web site to determine your child's "BASEBALL AGE"

What is Fall Ball?
  • The primary focus of LVLL’s Fall Ball program is development ; it’s an opportunity to expose players moving up to a higher division next season to playing with and against players and teams they’ll be facing in 2018.
  • This is particularly helpful for players moving up from Single A to AA where they’ll be introduced to live pitching for the first time, and for players moving up to Majors from the Minors divisions.
  • The Fall Ball season runs over a 6-8 week period from just after Labour Day to mid-October (weather permitting)
  •  Expect a mix of practices and games; usually at least 1 practice during the week and 1 to 2 games on weekends.
  • All practices will take place at Viewlynn Park or Kirkstone Batting Cage.
  • While many games will be played at Viewlynn Park, expect some to also be played off the North Shore (i.e. New West, Trout Lake, South Vancouver).
  • Other associations LVLL’s Fall Ball teams will play include Highlands, Mount Seymour, West Vancouver, South Vancouver, Dunbar, New Westminster,
  • The teams will be coached by LVLL volunteer parent coaches. Please indicate whether you’re able to assist with coaching, scorekeeping, field prep, etc.
  • Due to the multiple other commitments many kids have in the fall (i.e. school, soccer, hockey, etc.), team rosters are larger (i.e. 16 players) than during the regular season to ensure there are sufficient players to field a team for games.
For the 2017 Fall Ball Majors Division there will be assessments held on Friday September 8th at Viewlynn park. This will help the coaching group determine the appropriate level of development suitable for each individual player. More details will follow.
