Opening Day is fast approaching and we couldn’t be more excited. All LVLL players from ALL divisions are expected to attend Opening Day ceremonies on Saturday, April 5th%.%
Opening Day is one of the highlights of the season as it’s the only opportunity to have all LVLL players from T-ball through to Majors on the same field at the same time. It’s an event that’s not to be missed. Ceremonies will be on rain or shine, so lets all keep our fingers crosses for some beautiful baseball weather!
The ceremony begins with all teams being paraded around the field by a piper, the reading of the Little League Pledge, the singing of O’ Canada, and a ceremonial first pitch by Brooks Mcniven. Brooks was drafted by MLB’s San Francisco Giants, as played for Team Canada, runs our partner training facility, Inside Performance, and coaches both is daughters’ teams at LVLL.
Concession will be OPEN – and a voucher will be handed out to each player for a free hot dog, drink and bag of chips. Be sure to plan to stick around after the ceremonies at Kilmer to watch ball games being played in the T-Ball, Rookie, AA and AAA divisions.
Players and families should arrive by 9:00 AM, in order to find their team sign and check-in with their team no later than 9:15 AM. The piper will start off the player parade around 9:30 AM. Please allow yourself ample time for parking and getting to the field. When possible, consider walking or carpooling.
